Lanre Adanijo is a highly experienced banker, project engineer and management consultant with an extensive range of skills. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Engineering from the University of Ibadan. After his University Education, Lanre joined the elite consulting / professional services company, Arthur Andersen and Co. where he rose to the rank of Senior Consultant before his exit in 1992. During this period, he participated in various projects including those in systems development and strategic services projects for the banking, oil and Gas as well as Manufacturing Industries. Some of his achievements include:
Development of a strategic plan for African Petroleum Plc.
Treasury Management systems development for Michelin – a tyre manufacturing company.
System automaton projects for the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
After his time at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Adanijo joined Crystal Bank of Africa Limited where he rose to the level of Group Head, Corporate Banking in November 1995. Thereafter he worked for two years in the United Kingdom as a business analyst and systems developer with James Collette and Associates, a firm of management consultants and IT systems developers. On his return to Nigeria in February 1997, he joined Societe General Bank (Nigeria) Limited, where he was responsible for the development of Consumer, Retail and Special banking products. He pioneered the rollout and project implementation of SGBN’s Smart Card project. In October 1999, Lanre joined the then Standard Trust Bank, where he held several positions, including Group Head, Transaction Services and Divisional Director, Electronic and Retail banking. In 2002, he was appointed an Executive Director in the Bank. Lanre Adanijo was appointed GMD/CEO of GPS Ltd, an IT/Software Solution outfit in 2003, a position he holds to date. He is a successful entrepreneur and business man, and has at different times held board positions in some important companies in Nigeria, including the highly successful Standard Trust Bank, as well as Heirs Alliance Limited.
